I have been working as a professional Artist since 2010, with a primary focus on abstract figurative painting. The way in which people move through shared spaces and interact with others has been a primary focus for my work. Laying emphasis on color, shape, and line I seek to explore ways in which objects can appear and recede on a canvas similarly to figures moving through planes. How is motion and action most accurately captured? These paintings seek to explore answers to that question.
I graduated from the University of Vermont with a Bachelor's degree in Studio Art, Art History, and Sociology. My work has been exhibited internationally, notably in New York, Vermont, California, and Canada. While I am originally from Red Hook, New York, I have lived in Burlington, Vermont since 2007, and owe much of my artistic development to my experiences there. Though my love for charming Burlington is great, I am moving to Vancouver, British Columbia, and look forward to starting a new chapter, exploring a new city, and developing an affinity for poutine and ice hockey.
